For thirty years, Andi Johnson has crafted some of the best political advertising campaigns in the country. She got her start writing and producing TV and radio ads for Joe Slade White Communications, in New York City. After re-locating to Philadelphia, she joined Saul Shorr’s media firm, quickly rising to partner. Until it’s dissolution this month, Shorr Johnson Magnus was nationally recognized as one of the top democratic media firms in America.
At SJM, Johnson directed the creative process and contributed to the media strategy for a long list of clients, including U.S. Senators Bob Casey, Dick Durbin and Patrick Leahy, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, Senate Majority PAC, House Majority PAC, the Democratic Congressional and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committees. On a national level, Johnson was part of the media team for President Obama in 2008, and Priorities USA in 2012 and 2016. Johnson also directs and produces advertising for the United Federation of Teachers in New York City.
Originally from Eugene, Oregon, Johnson grew up in a politically active family. She is a graduate of Williams College with a degree in German Studies. Andrea lives just outside Philadelphia with her husband, Charles Ziccardi – a chef and South Philly native — and their two children, Charlotte and Marco.
