GPS Impact is hiring a senior strategist to help manage GPS Impact’s growing ballot measure campaign practice.  This is a new position, which will work closely with partners, principals and our leadership team to strengthen GPS’ capacity to provide general consulting and other services to ballot measure campaigns across the country.  GPS is fully committed to developing and supporting the growth and potential of this position.     

Location for this position is flexible, and can be remote (pending location approval) or based in any of GPS’ offices, including Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Des Moines or Kansas City.   

GPS Impact is a full-service public affairs and multimedia advertising agency with broad experience helping progressive candidates, advocacy groups, and organizations use integrated, strategic communications and advertising to achieve their goals. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support GPS clients in all aspects of managing ballot measure campaigns, from start-up and signature gathering, to developing and implementing an electoral strategy, and everything in between; 
  • Collaborate and strategize internally to ensure GPS services,  resources, and expertise are being leveraged to benefit ballot measure campaign clients;
  • Manage relationships with key coalition leaders/partners, allied organizations, campaign staff and other stakeholders;
  • Help develop and coach campaign staff, coalition partners, and others to help ensure successful implementation of campaign strategies and tactics;  
  • Collaborate and support responses for proposals and pitches for new client business. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of two cycles of experience working on statewide ballot measures, issue advocacy, electoral or candidate campaigns, in roles that demonstrate progressive levels of management responsibility;
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, and ability to manage and meet deadlines:
  • Experience in developing and/or implementing campaign plans, strategy and tactics;
  • Grassroots organizing expertise; 
  • Excellent writing and communication skills; 
  • Ability to work well with diverse, broad-based coalitions and grassroots organizations; 
  • Adept at working both independently and collaboratively.
